Painting begins.

So after a bit of modding with some greenstuff sculpting and a successful job of converting the toes, the painting of this beast has begun at last.

It feels good to finally get some colour on it. I spent some time airbrushing black, green and red over grey primer last night and today has been spent working on the larger metallic areas.

The black areas that are going metal have been drybrushed gunmetal and then a wash of drakenhoff nightshade and nuln oil and then another more subtle drybrush of the gunmetal. There will be a much subtler drybrush of a dull silver before a final edge highlight of vallejo game air silver.

Next job will be bronze trim.
I think this model has really started to come together now as i breathe more life into it. I'm looking forward to finishing it and grinning with satisfaction.

Progress has been swift

Well. Hello again all.

So, these past days have seen the chaos knight taking shape rapidly.

It has gone from a pile of parts to almost fully built.
The resin parts such as the shoulders and main hood are balanced but unglued at the moment.
The other resin armour for the breast, groin and legs will be added at the end after painting.

The overall model is pretty imposing and quite impre
ssive and there is a lot of movement in the jointed plastic parts on 3 planes....up/down, left/right, forward/backward. It's not a fiddly kit but there are some easy to make mistakes components.

Stay awake and none should occur.lol.

The hardest thing on this build so far has been sawing off the toes to make them gasp the lander on the base. Slightly challenging but not too much for a clued up and patient hobbyist. The gaps between toes and feet will be filled and textured later in the build. The lander was also way too large for the oval base but a bit of sawing, clipping and filing sorted that out.

The next phase will be adding a nurgle theme to it and doing some modifications. Then...the painting can begin. HUZZAH!!!

Evening all.

Well after some delays. The chaos knight titan begins.

The legs are now almost complete bar a few minor bits and the armour which will be fitted at the end.

There will be a lot of toe manipulation required to fit it onto the base which is slightly unusual.

The main torso is now built and the glue is curing currently.

Keep an eye out for more updates soon.

Project update

Hey all.

Apologies for the lack of updates. The entire family of gribblies have recently been blessed by papa nurgle with a nice dose of flu or something like it.

The big project has arrived and is currently in the clean and prep stages.
A chaos knight titan. It will be devoted to Nurgle and extensively modded to reflect its foul patronage.
I should have some WiP pics by this time next week.

In the meantime...enjoy your week and keep on hobbying.
